Novoaltaysky trolleybus is a project of a long-distance trolleybus network in the city of Novoaltaysk , connecting it with the city of Barnaul , existing since 2009 .

The implementation of the project was limited to pre-project preparation, as a result of which the most optimal route for laying the trolleybus line was determined. The studies showed that for the practical implementation of the project, it is necessary to expand the roads along the route and additional investments in the energy supply system in Novoaltaysk [1] . From April 10 to April 25, 2014, the ST trolleybus rolled in along the Barnaul-Novoaltaysk route, but the planned opening of constant traffic from May 1, 2014 did not take place.

Rolling stock
As rolling stock it is supposed to use:
- ST-6217M - 2 pcs. (equipped with an autonomous course of up to 60 kilometers). Such trolleybuses No. 4135, 4136 in suburban traffic were already moving from Barnaul to Novoaltaysk on an autonomous course.
- VMZ "Vanguard" - (equipped with an autonomous course of up to 40 kilometers). Earlier, such trolleybuses No. 4141, 4142 were already moving autonomously from Barnaul to Novoaltaysk (discontinued due to problems with clearance No. 4141, which was soon sent to a fine parking lot).
Route
- Barnaul-Novoaltaysk. Intercity Autonomous Route 101. Station - Lyceum №8 - TSUM - Fork - Barnaul . On the route, from April 10 to 25, 2014, the ST trolleybus was run-in with plans to launch continuous movement starting May 1, 2014. As a result, on May 1, 2014, the route was not launched into permanent operation and no more attempts were made to implement it.

Implementation Progress
In 2009, a project was announced for the construction of a trolleybus contact network in the city of Novoaltaysk and intercity Barnaul - Novoaltaysk.
On May 6, 2011, Governor Alexander Karlin at a meeting of the Altai Territory Administration Council officially announced his interest in the trolleybus project in Novoaltaysk . Also in 2011, a delegation from Barnaul visited the Belkommunmash plant (Minsk) and discussed the possibility of the technical use of Belarusian trolleybuses with diesel generators for the Novoaltaysk-Barnaul route.
In May 2011, at a meeting of the Altai Territory Administration Council, a draft Territorial Planning Scheme for the Barnaul agglomeration was submitted, which will include Barnaul, Novoaltaysk and the Pervomaisky municipal district. Among other things, the project provided for the organization of a trolleybus route 17 km long between Barnaul and Novoaltaysk. After that, the specialists of the enterprise MUE "Gorelectrotrans" worked out the route under consideration and presented positive conclusions about the possibility of organizing it.
In 2014, from April 10 to April 25, autonomous running of trolley buses was carried out on the Barnaul-Novoaltaysk route. The launch of the permanent message was scheduled for May 1, 2014, but did not take place. After April 25, 2014, no work is underway to implement the Barnaul-Novoaltaysk intercity line project. Also, no practical implementation is expected in Novoaltaysk on the intracity route. As of 2018, the project was actually canceled and limited to only running the trolley bus between Barnaul and Novoaltaysk between April 10 and 25, 2014.
