Geography
Delm is located 31 km southeast of Metz and about the same distance from Nancy . Neighboring communes: Tenkri and Prevokur in the northeast, Vivier and Fonteni in the east, Donjo , Laneuville-en-Solnoy and Oryokur in the southeast, Lemoncur in the south, Puzyu , Alencourt la Côte , Llocur and Ksokur in the northwest .
History
- In the Gallo-Roman era, Delm was referred to as lat on the Peytinger table . Ad Duodecimum ("on the twelfth terminal"), because was on the ancient Roman tract Metz-Strasbourg in 12 Gallic leagues from Metz.
- In the Renaissance belonged to the Marquisate Nomeni .
- In 1661, Delm, located on the Alsatian road, was transferred by the Duke of Lorraine Charles IV to the French King Louis XIV and, thus, became part of France.
- In 1790 he entered the department of Murt.
- Napoleon came here to the castle more than once.
- In 1871, Delm under the Frankfurt Treaty ceded to the German Empire and received the Germanized name Delm . In 1918, after the defeat of Germany in World War I, it again became part of France in the Moselle department.
- During World War II it was again occupied by Germany and bore the Germanized name Delmen in 1940-1944.
