Archbishop Stephen (in the world Stepan Maksimovich Adriashenko or Andriashenko ; October 25, 1870 , the village of Krasny Kut , Ekaterinoslav Province - ca. 1941 ) - Bishop of the Russian Orthodox Church , Archbishop of Arzamas , Vicar of the Gorky Diocese .

Biography

In 1894 he graduated from the Ekaterinoslav Theological Seminary .

September 26, 1894 ordained priest .

In 1896 he graduated from three courses of medical university.

May 7, 1924 in Holy Cross Church in Yekaterinoslav was tonsured a monk.

On May 11, 1924, he was consecrated Bishop of Alexander , Vicar of the Dnepropetrovsk Diocese . The rite of consecration was performed by the Archbishop Ioaniky (Sokolovsky) , Bishop Boris (Shipulin) , Bishop of Melitopol Sergius (Zverev) , Bishop of Elizavetgrad Onufry (Gagalyuk) .

In the same year he was arrested. Sent to Kharkov without the right to leave.

Released from exile in 1926 and temporarily ruled the entire Ekaterinoslav Diocese with the title Alexandrovsky and Pavlogradsky.

In September 1926 he was arrested, sentenced to 3 years of exile in Kazakhstan . Sent to Central Asia .

Since December 13, 1933 - Bishop of Rylsky , Vicar of the Kursk Diocese .

July 9, 1934 elevated to the rank of archbishop .

May 9, 1935 - Archbishop of Arzamas , vicar of the Gorky diocese .

At the end of 1935 arrested. In 1936 he was sentenced to 5 years of exile in Arkhangelsk .

In 1940, served time. He lived in Arkhangelsk.

February 14, 1941 arrested in Arkhangelsk. Sentenced to eight years in prison .

He died in the camp around 1941.
