Ooos

Usoos - in Phoenician mythology - is the navigator and hunter god, the founder of the famous ancient city of Tire (on the territory of modern Lebanon ). Mentioned in the writings of the Phoenician historian Philo Biblical .

There are two versions of the foundation of the city by Usoos [1] : according to the first, Usoos swam to the island on a log and hoisted two mantras , irrigating them with the blood of sacrificial animals. According to another version, there were two rocks on the island, and between them was an olive tree on which an eagle sat. The island sailed along the waves and had to stop when someone sailed to it and sacrificed an eagle - which was done by the navigator Usoos, after which the island stuck to the bottom.
