Biography

Elizabeth Sofia is the daughter of Elector of Brandenburg Johann Georg and his third wife Elizabeth of Anhalt , daughter of Prince Joachim Ernst of Anhalt .

For the first time, Elizabeth Sofia married on January 27, 1613 in Berlin, for Janusz Radziwill . In 1628, Elizabeth Sofia sold the city and the castle of Lichtenberg in the Principality of Bayreuth to her brother Margrave Christian Brandenburg-Bayreuth, allotted to her, the possessions. Prince Janusz acquired possession in 1617 for his wife in case of widowhood for 100 thousand guilders from the Waldenfels family.

The second husband of Elizabeth Sofia February 27, 1628 was the Duke Julius Heinrich of Saxe-Lauenburg . Elizabeth Sofia is buried in St. Mary's Church in Frankfurt an der Oder .

Descendants

In her first marriage, Elizabeth Sofia had a son, Boguslav Radziwill (1620-1669), married to Princess Anne Maria Radziwill (1640-1667). In the second marriage, the son of Franz Erdman of Saxe-Lauenburg was also born, married to Princess Sibylle Gedwig of Saxe-Lauenburg (1625-1703).
