Shadows of the old castle

Shadows of the Old Castle is a Soviet feature film from five episodes (called episodes in credits), shot in 1966 by director Maria Muat . A film adaptation of the story of Arnold Neggo " Island of the Giants ." The film takes place in 1948 on one of the border islands of Estonia.

Content

Story

Post-war autumn of 1948. In the 300-year-old castle of Barons von Loringers, which is located on one of the border islands of Soviet Estonia in the Baltic Sea, there is now a Mustamäe seven-year boarding school. Locals are sure that there lives the ghost of the Green Hunter. Schoolchildren living in the castle also think that at night they hear footsteps.

During the cleaning, the guys find a model of a pirate sailboat, in which there was a cache. It contained documents - a report from a German officer Walter and old documents from the school principal, a former White Guard officer Filimov.

In search of adventures and mythical treasures of the castle, the guys discover the sinister secrets of Estonian nationalists who collaborated with the Nazis during the Second World War ...
