Biography

Born in the family of the hairstylist of the Voronezh diocese .

In 1841 he graduated from the course of the Voronezh Theological Seminary in the first grade.

June 2, 1842 ordained to the priesthood.

September 1, 1843 he entered the Kiev Theological Academy .

March 11, 1845 was tonsured a monk.

On October 31, 1847, at the end of the academy's course, he was appointed teacher of the Voronezh Seminary .

July 5, 1850 awarded the degree of Master of Theology .

January 31, 1853 determined by the inspector of the Kursk Theological Seminary .

August 1, 1856 elevated to the rank of abbot .

Since December 4, 1858 - rector of the Oryol Theological Seminary .

January 25, 1859 was elevated to the rank of archimandrite .

On February 24, 1860 he was appointed rector of the Mtsensky Peter and Paul Monastery in the Oryol Diocese.

From March 10, 1861, he was rector of the Arkhangelsk Theological Seminary and director of the Mikhailo-Arkhangelsk Monastery .

Since August 3, 1866 - rector of the Novgorod Theological Seminary and rector of the Anthony Monastery .

On November 8, 1870, he was consecrated bishop of Balti , vicar of the Podolsk diocese .

On February 17, 1879, he was fired and was appointed manager of the Poltava Holy Cross Exaltation Monastery .

December 8, 1883 dismissed from the management of the monastery. Moved to live in the Divnogorsk Assumption Monastery of the Voronezh diocese.

He died on October 29, 1890.
