Edogawa ( 江 戸 川 区 edogawa ku ) is one of Tokyo 's 23 special districts . It is named after the name of the river , which flows from north to south along the eastern border of the region.

The easternmost of the districts of Tokyo, it borders the cities of Urayasu and Ichikawa of Chiba Prefecture (in the east) and special areas of Katsushika (in the north), Sumida and Koto (in the west).
According to the data for 2010, the population of the district was 673,998 people, and the population density was 13,518 per kilometer². The total territory is 49.86 km².
Content
History
The district was formed in 1937 by combining seven cities and villages of the Minami Katsushika district: the cities of Komatsugawa and Koiva, the villages of Kasai, Shinozaki, Matsue, Mizue and Sikamoto.
