Kusova Island is a small island of the Shantar archipelago , located 14 km east of the Big Shantar . The island is 4.5 km long and 2.5 km wide [1] . It was discovered in 1829 by the Russian hydrograph P. T. Kozmin and named after the director of the Russian-American company N. I. Kusov . [2] The highest point is 651.8 m [3] .

Included in the State Nature Reserve of federal significance "Shantar Islands." [4] In 2013, the Russian Government established the Shantar Islands National Park [5] , which included the island of Kusova.
