History

In the summer of 1989, two Petersburg artists Vladimir Dukharin and Mikhail Bashakov, having accumulated some song material, decided to assemble their own musical group. Thanks to the timely acquaintance with the bass player “ Nate! »Mikhail Dubov group acquired professional musicians and arranges their first concerts. At one of them, “Spirits” got acquainted with the music columnist of the newspaper “Evening Petersburg” Anya Chernigovskaya and invited her to become the director of the group. Thanks to these connections, the team easily auditiones for a rock festival , where the shocking leader Vladimir Dukharin makes a strong impression not only on the audience, but also on music critics . Shortly after the festival, a conflict occurs between the two founders of the group, Mikhail Bashakov and Vladimir Dukharin, and Dukharin leaves the group. The team understood that after the departure of the main showman and ideologist of the group, it would be very difficult to surprise the audience. But the new musician of the "Spirits" Pavel Kashin , who masterfully played practically all musical instruments, easily coped with this task.

In 1991, the group ceases its activities, and musicians Pavel Kashin and Mikhail Bashakov create their own solo projects. In 1996, Kashin brings “Spirits” together and gives them one concert, but leaves for the USA in a year. Bashakov works as a sound engineer on the radio and does not abandon the idea of reviving the band.
