Demographics
As of January 31, 2011, 5130 people live in the Luumyaki community: 2580 men and 2550 women. [3]
Finnish is the mother tongue for 97.49% of the population, Swedish for 0.31%. Other languages are native to 2.2% of the community.

The European branch of the American Institute of Archeomythology is located in Luumyaki. The branch is headed by Harald Haarmann .
