Zhunyang Suspension Bridge ( Chinese trade. 潤 揚 長江 大橋 , уп 扬 长江 大桥 , pinyin : Rùnyáng Chángjiāng Dàqiáo ) is the southern part of a complex bridge crossing the Yangtze River in Jiangsu Province, about 45 km east of Nanjing . The complex consists of two bridges: hanging south and cable-stayed north. It is part of the Beijing-Shanghai expressway . The name of the bridge is due to the fact that it connects Zhenjiang (formerly Rongzhou) and Yangzhou .

The length of the main span of the Junyang Suspension Bridge is 1,490 meters, thus, after completion of construction in 2005 , it became the fourth largest suspension bridge in the world and the second in China. The height of the bridge pylons is 215 m above sea level . The width of the bridge is 39.2 m, the roadway holds 6 car lanes and narrow paths along the edges of both sides of the roadway, for maintenance. The height of the roadway above the water surface is averaged about 50 meters.
