Content

History

Formed by the separation from the Tashkent and Central Asian diocese by the definition of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church on July 27, 2011 [1] [2] . It is part of the Central Asian Metropolitan District .

In November 2012, the diocese opened Russian language courses in rural areas of Tajikistan [3] .

On April 6, 2017, the Bishop of Dushanbe and Tajikistan Pitirim visited the Committee on Religious Affairs, streamlining national traditions, celebrations and rites under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, where in a solemn atmosphere he was presented with a certificate of state registration of the Dushanbe diocese [4] Archived 2018 .
