Tyumen Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia - founded in 1977. It included 6 faculties , 15 departments . There were branches of distance learning in the cities of Tobolsk and Surgut . In 2011, during the reform of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, it was reorganized into the Tyumen Institute for Advanced Studies of the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

History
The history of the institution began with the formation of the Tyumen part-time department of the Omsk Higher Police School of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs on December 5, 1977. This date is considered to be the birthday of the university. In 1978, the department was transformed into a faculty, on the basis of which the Tyumen Higher School of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs was created. And since 1996, the university has been called the Tyumen Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. [one]
Faculty
Among the faculty more than 80% of people have degrees and titles. The university has its own adjunct . Dissertation Council for the defense of dissertations for the degree of Doctor of Law. About thirteen years (until 2011) the university was headed by Doctor of Law , Professor Major General of the Police Alexander Ivanovich Chislov.
