Sergeant Andrew Farrer's Funeral Foundation
In 2005, the group released two singles on CD for the family of Sergeant Andrew K. Farrera, who served in the United States Marine Corps, who was killed on January 28, 2005 in Al Anbar, Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Farrer, who was a big fan of Dropkick Murphys, asked his family that if something happened to him during his lifetime, he would like Pete Saint John's song “The Fields of Athenry” to play at his funeral. The group released an updated version of the single. The disc also contained the track “Last Letter Home”, which was included on The Warrior's Code's next album in 2005. All proceeds from the sale of a single worth $ 10 through the official website of the group were transferred to the Andrew Farrera Funeral Fund.
