William Oliver Stadman ( born William Oliver Studeman , b.1940 ) - American military leader, admiral, director of the US National Security Agency (1988-1992), deputy director of central intelligence in 1992-1995.

Biography
Born in Brownsville . In 1962 he received a bachelor's degree in history from the University of the South , Tennessee , and subsequently received a degree in international relations from George Washington University . He served in the Navy, a participant in the Vietnam War . He was an operations intelligence officer of the 7th Fleet, an assistant to the deputy chief of naval operations, the head of an operational center for marine intelligence, and the director of a long-term planning group under the command of naval operations [1] . In September 1985, Admiral Stadman was appointed director of naval intelligence , where he served until July 1988, and from August 1988 to April 1992 was director of the National Security Agency . In 1992-1995 he served as Deputy Director of Central Intelligence . In 1995, he retired from military service.
He was awarded the medal "For Outstanding Service" by the US Navy , the Legion of Honor Order with two gold stars, and government awards from France, Brazil and South Korea.
