Crocidura gmelini (lat.) Is a species of mammal of the genus Shrews of the family Shrews . The species name was given in honor of the German naturalist Johann Friedrich Gmelin (1748-1804) [1] . Endemic to Central Asia : Afghanistan , Iran , Kazakhstan , China , Mongolia , Pakistan , Turkmenistan , Uzbekistan (and, possibly, Israel, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan). Steppes and semi-deserts, salt marshes with tamarisk and dunes. Included in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Animals ( IUCN ). [2]
