History
It was first mentioned at the beginning of the XVII century (under the name "Pogost on the Roche River") as a village with the church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, ravaged in the Time of Troubles ; The last temple building was erected in the 1900s . (not preserved). From the middle of the XVII century it is referred to as a village , later the village of Vysokoye, as part of the Undercity camp of the Bryansk district . Former possession of the Bakhtins , Zagryazhsky , Savitsky , Lvov , Vysheslavtsev and others.
Until the beginning of the 20th century, it was known as the center of cooperage. In 1887, a zemstvo school was opened.
From 1861 to 1924 in the Knyavitsky volost of Bryansk (from 1921 - Bezhitsky ) county; later in the Zhiryatinsky volost , Zhiryatinsky district (since 1929 ), and with its temporary disbandment ( 1932 - 1939 , 1957 - 1985 ) - in the Zhukovsky district . Until 2005, it was the center of the High Village Council.
