Ternopil Regional Council ( Ukrainian: Ternopilska oblasna rada ) is a representative body of local self-government representing the common interests of territorial communities of villages , towns , cities , within the powers defined by the Constitution of Ukraine , the Law of Ukraine "On Local Self-Government in Ukraine" and other laws, as well as powers delegated to them by village, township, city councils.
The regional council consists of deputies , is elected by the population of the Ternopil region for a term of five years. The Council elects standing and temporary commissions. The regional council conducts its work in session. The session consists of plenary meetings and meetings of its standing commissions.
After the formation of the Ternopil region in 1939, the Ternopol Regional Council was formed. He elected his executive committee , which was headed by the chairman.
