Electronic Entertainment Expo 2011 ( “E3 2011” ) ( English “Electronic Entertainment Exhibition 2011” ) is the 17th international exhibition of computer games Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). E3 is an annual trade fair for the computer games industry , hosted by the Entertainment Software Association (ESA). E3 2011 was held from 7 to 9 June 2011 inclusive in the Los Angeles Convention Center . E3 is used by many computer game developers to present their future games and gaming hardware. E3 2011 was actively covered and broadcast by the American TV channel G4 [1] .

The key, key events at E3 2011 were the demonstration by Sony of its newest portable game console PlayStation Vita and the official announcement of the newest game console from Nintendo - Wii U.

Summary
As in previous years, the exhibition was dominated by announcements and presentations from three major console manufacturers: Nintendo , Microsoft and Sony . After the end of the exhibition, industry analysts rated Nintendo’s Wii U presentation as the biggest event at E3 2011 [2] [3] , noting that the demonstration of Sony’s PlayStation Vita portable console also generated considerable press interest [4] [5] . Some media publications have described the Wii U as the first officially presented console of the eighth generation [6] [7] . Microsoft did not have any significant hardware announcements, but showed a number of games developed for using its Kinect controller [8] .
Press Conference
Konami held its own press conference before the start of E3 2011 - June 2, 2011 - and showed its future games on it. The show featured live events in a number of cities: Los Angeles , Toronto , São Paulo and Mexico City [9] .
Microsoft held a press conference on June 6, 2011 ( UTC − 7 ), one day before the start of E3. It focused on the Xbox 360 and was called "Xbox 360 E311 Media Briefing" [10] . The game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was shown during the Microsoft press conference [11] .
Sony's press conference also took place the day before the start of the E3. It was sent to the PlayStation Vita and the PlayStation 3 .
The Nintendo press conference was held on June 7, 2011 at 9 am ( UTC − 7 ) at Nokia Theater [12] . Nintendo revealed the successor to its Wii console , the Wii U , which is scheduled for release in 2012. [13] A prototype console was available for visitors to the exhibition, in which some games could be played [14] .
