Duker traveled to sketches on the island of Rugen , where he was interested in unusual rocky landscapes and sunny overflows of sea waves. Since 1897 he lived in Breslau , then moved to Dresden and worked on the orders of the last king of Saxony , Frederick Augustus III , for the implementation of which he traveled to Italy and Greece.
