Political parties in Bulgaria , according to the law, are called upon to promote the formation and expression of the political will of citizens. The creation, regulation and closure of parties takes place in accordance with the "Law on Political Parties" [1] [2] .

According to article 11 of the Constitution of the Republic of Bulgaria, political life in the country is based on the principle of political pluralism ; no political party or ideology can be declared state; founding a party on an ethnic , racial or religious basis is prohibited, as are parties that aim to forcibly seize state power .
According to article 13, “ religious communities and institutions, like religious beliefs , cannot be used for political purposes .” [2]
