History
It was founded at the end of the 17th century by the dude Leon Rubz (hence the name); since 1761 in the possession of Razumovsky . The Church of the Intercession was mentioned from the beginning of the 19th century (not preserved). Before World War II , the Ukrainian population prevailed.
Until 1781, it was part of the Pochep (1st) hundred of the Starodub regiment ; from 1782 to 1918 in Mglinsky district, county (since 1861 - as part of Kulnevsky volost ). In 1918 - 1924 - in Pochep county (Kulnevsky volost); in 1924 - 1929 - in the Zhiryatinsky volost of the Bezhitsky district . In the 1880s A literacy school was opened, and annual fairs were held until the beginning of the 20th century .
Since 1929 - in the Zhiryatinsky district, and with its temporary disbandment ( 1932 - 1939 , 1957 - 1985 ) - in the Pochep district . Until 1961 - the center of the Rubchansky Village Council; in 1961 - 2005 in the Kulnevsky village council.
