History
The depot counts its history since November 1871 [1] . From the moment of commissioning of the building for two locomotive stalls at the Baranavichy station, the depot began to refer to the reserve. In 1901, in connection with the reorganization of the Baranavichy station, the construction of new parks for sorting and forming trains, a depot was being developed. Depo Baranavichy is listed as a negotiable depot and incorporates 2 locomotive buildings for 12 stalls.
The German fascist invaders caused enormous damage to the locomotive farm during the retreat - buildings and structures were completely destroyed. Since 1969, the first diesel trains began to arrive on the Belarusian road. Already in 1970, the depot team produced all types of depot repair and inspection of diesel trains.
In 1980, more than 30 electric locomotives for freight traffic VL-80 S entered the capital depot park.
With the collapse of the USSR and the destruction of the previously established efficient overhaul of locomotives at locomotive repair plants, after extensive preparatory work in 1992, the depot mastered the overhaul of the first volume (KR-1) of freight locomotives VL-80 S. In 1993, a major overhaul of the first volume of diesel-train motor cars was organized, and from the beginning of 1994 weaving repairs (TR-3) of ER9 electric trains .
However, it became obvious that in the existing production facilities of the depot, in full and with proper quality, the problem of overhauling locomotives cannot be solved. Therefore, at the initiative of the former chief of the road E. I. Volodko and with his constant support, the construction of two workshops for the overhaul of rolling stock was organized at the road section. One of them, for the repair of electric trains, is located on the territory of the locomotive depot Baranavichy. Construction began in 1995, was funded entirely at the expense of the road and was carried out at an accelerated pace. In December 1997, the construction of all production facilities that make up the starting complex was completed, and on December 31, 1997, the acceptance committee accepted them into operation.
