Emerald Tanagra [1] ( lat. Tangara florida ) is a species of newly palated birds from the Tanagra family. Distributed on the slopes of the Western Andes in western Colombia (north of Choco ) and northwestern Ecuador ( Esmeraldas and Pichincha ), as well as in Costa Rica and Panama [2] [3] . It occurs under the canopy and on the border of a humid mossy forest, at an altitude of 0-1200 meters above sea level [2] [4] . Live in pairs or in small groups. Often found in mixed flocks with other tanagra [2] . They feed on insects , which are collected on mossy tree branches, mainly on their underside [2] . Body length about 13 cm [5] [6] .
