Career
Julian was born in Schwerth . In 1991, the family moved to Dortmund . Julian started playing football at the age of seven on the Hörde team. In the summer of 2001, he moved to the Borussia Football Academy [2] .
In July 2008, Jürgen Klopp draws attention to Koch, and Julian signs his first professional contract [3] . But he begins to play in the second team of Borussia. On August 16, 2008, Julian made her debut in the western regional league in the first round match against the second Mainz team, which ended in a 4-1 victory for the Dortmund players [4] . In total, Julian played 30 games in his debut season and scored one goal.
The following season, 2009/2010, Julian also continued to play in the second team. However, in March 2010 he was called up to the main team, where he made his debut on March 6 in the home match of round 25 against Borussia from Monchengladbach , which ended in a major victory 3-0. Julian came on as a substitute in the 85th minute instead of Kevin Groskreuz [5] . Replacing in the 26th round, in the away match against Bochum , won with a score 4: 1, instead of Nelson Valdes in the 78th minute [6] , he no longer appeared on the field in the Bundesliga.
In the 2010/2011 season, Julian went on loan to the Second Bundesliga to the Duisburg club [7] , in which he played 22 matches and scored 2 goals. The Duisburg debut took place on August 22, 2010 in the away match against Osnabruck , which ended in a 3-1 victory. Koch was able to distinguish himself in his first fight [8] .
On June 5, 2013, Koch moved to Mainz 05 and signed a four-year contract [9] .
