The 2nd front was formed within the framework of the Kwantung Army on July 4, 1942 as a structure responsible for maintaining order in Manzhou, and also as a military reserve. The need for its creation was due to the fact that many combat units of the Kwantung Army were relocated to other theaters of operations. On October 30, 1943, the turn came to the very 2nd front: he was transferred to Indonesia and settled on the island of Sulawesi . On June 13, 1945, the front was disbanded, its subunits became part of other military formations.
Organizationally, the 2nd Front included the 2nd Army (consisting of the 35th and 36th Infantry Divisions) and the 32nd Infantry Division .
