Below is a list of players who scored the most goals in the America's Cup.
America's Cup is a football tournament held under the auspices of CONMEBOL among the national teams of the region. The first rally was held in 1916. From its beginning until 1967, the tournament was called the South American Championship , and in the 1975 drawing, the tournament got its current name. Since 1993, invited teams began to take part in the tournament; in total, five invited teams participated in the America's Cup - teams from the USA , Mexico , Costa Rica , Honduras and Japan .
The first scorer was Uruguayan Isabelino Gradin , who scored three goals. Argentines became top scorers more often than others - 17 times. Twice the players from the invited teams became the best goalscorers and both times they were players from Mexico - Luis García Postigo in 1995 and Luis Hernandez in 1997 .
Argentinian Norberto Mendez and Brazilian Zizinho are the best scorers in the entire history of the tournament, each of them scored 17 goals. Six players have twice become the best goalscorers of the tournament - Pedro Petrone , Angel Romano , Erminio Masantonio , Gabriel Batistuta , José Paolo Guerrero and Eduardo Vargas . The largest number of goals in one tournament - nine - scored three players - Zhair da Rosa Pinto , Javier Ambrois and Umberto Maschio .
