Sports career
A versatile athlete who was equally successful in jumping from a springboard and a tower, solo and in sync with a partner.
The first major success came to the Mexican at the 2003 World Championships, when, in conjunction with compatriot Laura Sanchez, she won a bronze medal in synchronized ski jumping. A year later, at the Olympic Games , this result was fixed - Espinosa took fifth places in the synchronous disciplines of ski jumping and derrick. In the solo disciplines went to the final competition. At the post-Olympic World Cup, Espinosa improved her results, taking fourth place on the springboard and sixth on the tower.
The preparatory for the next Olympiad world championship was not entirely successful - Espinosa played in all final competitions, but did not earn medals, completing the competition in seventh place three times (including both competitions in synchronized jumps). At the Olympics Espinosa participated only in jumping from the tower and took fourth place in the solo program. Together with Tatiana Ortiz won a bronze medal in the synchronous program. At the post-Olympic world championship in Rome, Espinosa won the gold medal in the springboard solo competition. Twice ranked seventh in the synchronous competition and did not pass the semi-final selection in the competition at the three-meter springboard. The reduction in points was due to the fact that the athlete, at a consistently high speed of performing the jumps, did not always follow the correct technique and was not tightly grouped at the saltovy revolutions. At the last jump from a springboard, the Mexican slightly bent her knees at the time of entering the water and did not pull off her socks, which significantly affected the judge's assessment.
At the World Championships in 2011 won the "bronze" in solo jumping from the tower.
