Wentz, Dan

Dan Wentz was born and raised in the United States. His career in the gaming industry began with the Descent II computer game, which was developed by Parallax Software and released in 1995. Wentz worked with Parallax Software and was a composer, sound designer, 3D fashion designer, and level designer. Descent II was followed by Descent II - The Infinite Abyss (1996) and Descent Maximum (1997), in which Wentz performed the same duties; at Descent Maximum, he was already listed as the lead level designer.

In 1997, Parallax Software was split into two separate companies - Volition, Inc. and Outrage Entertainment . Wentz stayed to work in the first and continues to work there until now (mid-2011). From that moment, he worked on all the games developed by Volition, Inc., as a sound designer and composer.

His first notable work was the soundtrack to the 2001 shooter Red Faction , which was highly praised by gaming journalists for its innovative technology of destructible environments . ^[one]
