Glazanikha is a village in the Onega district of the Arkhangelsk region . It is part of the Kodinsky rural settlement [2] .

Geography

Glazanikha village is located on the Onega tributary - the Shomboruchey River, on the Onega - Obozersky railway section, to the west of the Mudyuga village [3] . Glazanikha station is located about a kilometer east of the village.

History

Since 1943, Glazanikha was part of the Mudyuzhsky Council. From January 1963 to January 1965 , Glazanikha was part of the Plesetsk industrial region . Since 2002 - as part of the Mudyuzhsky Village Council. Since 2006 - in the municipality "Kodinskoye".

The population of the village, according to the 2010 All-Russian Population Census , is 415 people [7] . In 2009, there were 513 people, of whom 156 were pensioners [8] . In 2007, there were 560 people (including 160 pensioners). In the mid-1980s, the population of the village reached one and a half thousand people [9] .

Economics

In 1939 - 1941, the Sorokskaya - Obozerskaya railway was built, where the Glazanikha station is located . Nowadays, the main enterprise in the village is a branch of Onegales OJSC. There is a kindergarten school [10] .

Etymology

According to one version, the name of the village was given by the presence in the vicinity of lakes arranged in pairs, when observed from a height they were called “eyes”.
