The Red Book of the Arkhangelsk Region is an annotated list of rare and endangered species of mushrooms , plants and animals in the Arkhangelsk region . Regional version of the Red Book of Russia .

History
The initial list of species protected on the territory of the Arkhangelsk region was approved by the decision of the Arkhangelsk Oblast Executive Committee of August 18, 1989. Its publication occurred in 1990 . [one]
The Red Book of the Arkhangelsk Region was published in 1995 by the Committee for the Protection of the Environment and Natural Resources of the Arkhangelsk Region among the first regional editions of red books. But the book was actually popular science literature , since at that time there was no local legislative base regulating the issues of its publication and maintenance. The list of rare and protected species included 324 taxa (9 species of mushrooms, 2 species of lichens , 2 species of mosses , 213 species of higher plants , 51 species of invertebrates and 47 species of vertebrate animals), which were divided into four categories of rarity. In 2008, the book was reprinted in accordance with federal laws of January 10, 2002 No. 7-FZ "On Environmental Protection" (as amended on June 26, 2007), dated April 24, 1995 No. 52-FZ "On the Animal World" (as amended on April 20, 2007) and the resolution of the head of the administration of the Arkhangelsk region dated February 2, 2005 No. 29 “On the Red Book of the Arkhangelsk region” [1] [2] [3] .
The second edition of the Red Book of the Arkhangelsk Region (excluding the territory of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug ) contains data on 203 taxa (5 species of mushrooms, 10 species of lichens, 46 species of mosses, 90 species of vascular plants, 4 species of invertebrates and 48 species of vertebrate animals), which are classified to eight categories of rarity [1] [3] .
Book Maintenance
According to local legislation, the regional red book is entrusted to the Committee on Ecology of the Arkhangelsk Region Administration [4] .
The collection and synthesis of information on taxa included in the Red Book or planned for inclusion in it, is legally recommended to Pomeranian State University. MV Lomonosov , Northern Forestry Research Institute , Northern Branch of the Polar Scientific Research Institute of Marine Fisheries and Oceanography , Pinezhsky State Nature Reserve, Northern Branch of the State Scientific Institution “ All-Russian Research Institute of Hunting and Animal Breeding named after . The publication of the Red Book of the Arkhangelsk region should be made at least once every 10 years. During the period between editions of the book, lists of rare and endangered taxa are planned and approved, which are planned to be included in the next book or excluded from it. [2] [4]
Contents
The Red Book consists of three parts describing, respectively, protected species of mushrooms, plants and animals. Lists of species and their descriptions are arranged in accordance with generally accepted taxonomy. [one]
All species present in the book are divided into eight categories, depending on the level of threat of their possible extinction [1] :
- 0 (Ex) - probably extinct species (subspecies, populations);
- 1 (E) - threatened species (subspecies, populations);
- 2 (V) - declining species (subspecies, populations);
- 3 (R) - rare species (subspecies, populations);
- 4 (I) - species (subspecies, populations) undefined by current status or categories;
- 5 (Cd) - restored or restored species (subspecies, populations);
- 6 - rare species with irregular stay (subspecies, populations);
- 7 - out of danger.
