Biography
D.S. Vasiliev-Buglai was born on July 28 ( August 9 ), 1888 in Moscow.
In 1898-1906 he studied at the Moscow Synodal School (composition class - A. D. Kastalsky , harmony - V. S. Kalinnikov , counterpoint - K. N. Shvedov ).
Since 1906, he directed choirs in various cities of Russia. One of the founders of the Italmas academic ensemble of the Udmurt Republic [1] .
In 1918, the head. mass educational work of the Tambov proletcult. The organizer of the choir (150 people), speaking on the fronts of the Civil War .
Member of the RAPM (1923-1925), ORKIMD (1925-1930). Collected over 500 folk songs.
D.S. Vasiliev-Buglay died on October 5, 1956. He was buried in Moscow at the Novodevichy cemetery (plot number 4).
