Segunda 2011/2012 ( Spanish: Segunda División de España 2011/2012 ) - The 81st season of Spain’s Second Football Division since its inception. The season started on August 21, 2011 and ended on June 17, 2012 . The championship was attended by 22 teams.

Commands

There are 22 teams in the league, 15 of which played in the second league in Spain in the 2010–11 season, three of which left La Liga for the 2010–11 season, and four of which entered Division B.

Deportivo La A Coruña , Hercules and Almeria - teams departed from La Liga. Deportivo La Coruna - flew out after twenty years of being in La Liga, Hercules - flew to Division B after one season in the top division, while Almeria flew after four years in La Liga. Betis - the last two seasons in the third division, joined Division B, Rayo Vallecano - after eight years in the lower division and Granada - stayed in the lower divisions for 35 years.

Teams that took off last season: - Salamanca , Tenerife , Ponferradina and Albacete . In place of them came - Real Murcia , Sabadell , Alcoyano and Guadalajara .
