"A rectangular blue double-sided cloth with a width-to-length ratio of 2: 3, bearing close to the bottom edge is an image of a yellow on a green hill with a purple lining of an old helmet with a falling white outline, and above the helmet, close to the top edge of a panel is a stylized image of a yellow sun" .
Symbolization Justification
The flag was developed on the basis of the coat of arms of a rural settlement Novopetrovskoe.
The settlements included in the modern municipality have a rich history, some of them have a centuries-old history. So the settlement center Novopetrovskoye is known from the first written references from the XV century as the village of Petrovskoye. In the second half of the 15th century, Prince Daniel Dmitrievich Kholmsky , who was then in the service of Grand Duke Ivan III , purchased the lands here.
Daniel Kholmsky was the commander of the era of Ivan III, he actually led the march on Novgorod in 1471, won the battle on the Sheloni River. Daniil Dmitrovich led a successful defense on the Oka , during the invasion of Khan Akhmat in 1480. In memory of the fact that Novopetrovsky was associated with the name of the outstanding commander Prince Daniel Kholmsky, whose merits were so great that they were reflected in the perpetuation of the prince’s figure on the Millennium of Russia monument, the prince’s helmet is depicted on the flag.
The heraldic helmet veil (blotch) fancifully winding along the hill on which the helmet stands, also symbolizes the nature of the settlement - the tapes of the forehead allegorically reflect the numerous rivers whose origins converge on the hills of the settlement.
The emerging shining sun symbolizes the inseparable historical connection of the Novopetrovsky rural settlement with the Istrinsky district: the sun is the figure of the flag of the Istrinsky municipal district .
The flag of the Istra region is a symbol of purity, perfection, peace and understanding.
Yellow color ( gold ) is a symbol of harvest, wealth, stability, respect, intelligence.
Green color is a symbol of nature, health, youth, life growth.
Blue color ( azure ) - a symbol of honor, nobility, spirituality, sublime aspirations.
