Childhood

Fletcher was born in Harrow . His father, Bob Fletcher, played in local bands, and his mother, Debbie Fletcher, a teacher, encouraged and supported his love of music from a very young age. He has a younger sister, Carrie Hope Fletcher, who leads her v-log on YouTube. When he was 10, Fletcher starred in the production of Oliver! at the London Palladium Theater. He studied at the theater school. At age 14, Tom began to write music. He initially auditioned for Busted , but the label's management decided that there should be 3 people in the group, not 4. Tom claims that formally he was in the group for 24 hours. This led to work on the songs of the group, then Tom met the band member James Bourne . After that, he stated that it was James who taught him the right way to write songs and how to come up with a good melody.

McFly

While recording his second Busted album, Tom asked the label if he could be auditioned for his band. Just then he met with Denny Jones. Tom was impressed by Jones' style and invited him to write a song with him and James. When the songwriting for Busted came to an end, they began to work together to create their own (so far unnamed) band. To do this, they moved together to a hotel for 2 months to concentrate on writing songs. Dougie Poynter (bass player) and Harry Judd (drummer) were subsequently found through announcements. To help their friends, the Busted guys called them on a tour in March 2004. Subsequently, many noticed that if Busted did not take the guys with them on a tour, they would not be where they are today. In 2004, McFly broke the Beatles record as the youngest group, whose debut album started on the charts immediately in first place. Tom wrote most of McFly's songs, along with Poynter and Jones. Bourne also periodically participated in songwriting. As of November 15, 2010, McFly has released five studio albums and two compilations. A new collection of top hits called “Memory Lane” was released in November 2012. The first new single from this album is called “Love Is Easy”. This is the first single where Tom plays the ukulele instead of the guitar. Tom is the founder, sometimes pianist and guitarist of the pop punk band McFly. He named the band after Marty McFly , the protagonist of his favorite movie Back to the Future
