Biography

Pavel Alexandrovich Kutepov was born on February 27, 1925 in Paris. In 1930, his father was abducted by agents of Soviet intelligence, after which he moved with his mother, Lidia Davydovna, to Riga, where her relatives lived. In 1936, Lidia Davydovna with her son moved to Yugoslavia in the city of Bila Tserkva, where her son entered the first class (24th graduation) of the Russian Cadet Corps . Since the benefits from the Bureau for the Protection of Russian Refugees were insufficient during the war, he did not finish the course, and at the end of seven classes in 1943 he entered the ranks of the Russian security corps , which allowed him to support his mother.

In September 1944, he crossed the front line in the area of ​​Panchev and joined the Red Army , where he served as a translator (spoke French , German and Serbo-Croatian ). In 1945, together with white generals G. A. Vdovenko and V. M. Tkachev, he was sent to Moscow, where he was under investigation for a long time. Sentenced to 20 years of forced labor. Contained in the Vladimir Central [1] .

In 1954, he was granted amnesty, after which he worked at textile factories in Ivanovo and worked part-time as a painter. The local priest drew attention to him as an educated person who speaks foreign languages, and recommended him to the Moscow Patriarchate. In 1960, P. A. Kutepov was hired as a translator in the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate (DECR), since 1964 - editor, since 1967 - editor-in-chief of the DECR translation agency [1] .

For his work in the Russian Orthodox Church he was awarded the Order of St. Prince. Vladimir 2nd and 3rd degrees and St. Sergius of Radonezh 3rd degree.

Several times I went abroad to work. He died in Moscow on December 27, 1983, and was buried at the Babushkinskoye cemetery .
