Biography

David Lascells was born at his parents' house in London. He is the eldest son of the 7th Earl of Harwood and his first wife, Marion Stein. He was baptized at the All Saints Church in Herwood . His father was the son of Henry Lacells, 6th Earl of Harwood and Princess Mary, and was a cousin to Queen Elizabeth II . On the maternal side - the grandson of the Austrian musician Erwin Stein . His godmothers were Elizabeth II (then Her Royal Highness Princess Elizabeth, Duchess of Edinburgh), his great-grandmother Queen Mary , Viscountess Boyne, Benjamin Britten , Erwin Stein and his uncle, the Honorable Gerald Lascells .

David Lacells inherited the title of Earl of Harwood after the death of his father in 2011 [1] .

Career

David Lascells worked as a producer . His first film in this capacity was a four-hour documentary on Tibetan culture in exile, Tibet a Trilogy. It was shown at the London Institute of Contemporary Art, and then broadcast in thirty countries [2] . At the beginning of his career, Lassells also worked on three projects with director Christopher Monger. [2]

On February 12, 1979 , David Lascells married Margaret Rosalind Messenger ( born 1948); the marriage ended in divorce in 1989 .

On March 11, 1990 , he married Diane Jane Howse (born 1956).

Children

  • Emily Tsering (born November 23, 1975 in Bath ) - in 2008, she married Matthew Shard . Spouses are parents of twins.
  • Benjamin George Lascells (born September 19, 1978 in Bath) is a film producer. On April 18, 2009, he married Colombian Carolina Velez Robledo.
  • Alexander Edgar Lascells, Viscount Lascells (born May 13, 1980 in Bath). He is the heir to the county. From his girlfriend, Laleh Yeganegy has a son, Leo Lascells.
  • Edward David Lascells (born November 19, 1982 in Bath).

The second marriage is childless.

Since the two oldest children were born before marriage, they do not participate in the inheritance of the county and the British throne.
