History
2007, September 14 - an agreement was signed on the organization of industrial assembly in the territory of the Russian Federation with the Ministry of Economic Development, Industry and Trade.
2007, December 12 - A delegation of the St. Petersburg government headed by Governor V. Matvienko visited the Republic of Korea, where a memorandum of intent was signed governing the construction of a car factory in St. Petersburg .
2008 , February - negotiations began on the location of the plant between the Korean investor and the "Committee on Investments and Strategic Projects". It was about the industrial zone "Horse Lakhta". At the same time, city officials were studying the possibility of building factories in the Kamenka industrial zone at the intersection of Levashovsky and Gorskoe highways. This territory was assigned to the terminal and warehouse infrastructure.
2008, February 29 - a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Hyundai Motor Company and St. Petersburg governing the implementation of the plant’s investment project.

2009 , October 13 - a resolution was passed on the design and construction of the plant of Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus LLC. Construction is planned in Sestroretsk on Levashovskoye Highway, Section 1 (north-west of the intersection with Gorsky Highway), on an area of 19,98660 square meters. The plot will be transferred to the company for rent for the period of construction of the facility with its extension for 49 years. Assessing all the pros and cons, the city stopped at this site [1] . Crucial importance in choosing the site of the plant was provided by the transportation facilities of the Ring Road, the proximity of the seaport in Kronstadt, the prospect of the development of the seaport in Gorskaya.
2010 , May 19 - in the industrial zone of Kamenka, in the Kurortny district, the first line of the plant was launched.
September 21, 2010 - the Hyundai plant was inaugurated in the presence of Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin . It will produce a "Solaris" with two body options - a sedan and a hatchback . By this date, a section of high-speed diameter was built to connect the plant with the Ring Road , which improved the transport scheme of communications with the plant. 2010, autumn - test production of cars started.
2011 , January - according to the plan, mass production of cars began. The plant employs 2,000 workers. The volume of investment in production amounted to 500 million euros. The maximum production capacity of the enterprise of the first stage is 100 thousand cars per year [2] .
2011 , April - the production of the main model was launched on the second shift, the staff was recruited and trained. In May, it is planned to launch a five-door model.

In the future, the development of the plant will create 5.5 thousand skilled jobs [4] .
In March 2011, 6762 cars were sold. Export to neighboring countries began: Ukraine , Kazakhstan , Belarus , Azerbaijan , Uzbekistan , Moldova , Armenia , Kyrgyzstan .

The railway station Beloostrov and the adjacent industrial area with access roads is the main transshipment base with a sump of finished products, which are delivered here by car carriers.
Near the plant is the largest landfill of waste in the north of St. Petersburg. To protect the plant from the excrement of huge flocks of birds accompanying landfill sites, the plant is equipped with installations simulating the cries of birds of prey (kites) and hunter shots. To clean the air entering the shop, the latter are equipped with air conditioning.
2013 - the construction and completion of the training site at vocational school-120 in Sestroretsk was completed, to which the plant provides sponsorship, and which began to train personnel for the plant. Scholarships for the best study for three students were established. The plant produced more than 300 thousand cars from the start of production and came out on top in Russia in sales among foreign models.
