Name etymology
The name of the castle and village came from the name of the Prussian village Talpaken, meaning "warm field". After 1945, the village was renamed Talpaki. [one]
History
Founded in 1336 near the Prussian settlement Talpaken. In 1376, the castle was captured and destroyed by the Lithuanian prince Keystut . In 1530 the fortress was rebuilt into a castle. [2]
