Bridges of Minsk
Due to the small water system in Minsk there are few bridges (about 120 without taking into account small park structures). As a rule, these are bridges over the Svisloch or roads (overpasses) [1] .
The area of the bridge deck - 140 thousand m².
History
The only preserved pre-war overpass is the West Bridge over Moskovskaya Street . The Concrete Bridge built in 1908, which connected Moskovskaya Street with Chkalov Street , was radically rebuilt in 1982-1984 (in fact, it was rebuilt).
In Brezhnev times, emphasis was placed on durability and reliability.
It is planned by 2014 the appearance of 10 road junctions (and bridges). Construction of the longest trestle bridge in the city (460 m, the intersection of Dzerzhinsky and Zhukov Avenues) has already been completed. The overpass was open to the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus on July 2, 2012 [2] .
