The developer of more than 15 new or revised GOST SIBID, author or co-author of more than 20 monographs on the problems of the history of the Russian Book Chamber, the current state of organization and standardization of books, its reference and information support, the editorial and publishing culture of book production, as well as on the problems of reading promotion . Author or co-author of more than 450 articles and other publications in domestic and foreign professional periodicals and encyclopedic reference books. He is a member of the standing committees of various sections of the library associations IFLA , ALA , RBA .

Biography
In 1961 he graduated from the seven-year plan and entered the Moscow Polygraphic College named after I. Fedorova at the faculty of technical editing of books and magazines . After graduating from college at the age of 16 and receiving a diploma of a technical editor , KM Sukhorukov joined the Institute of Scientific and Technical Information on the Forest Industry in the summer of 1964 , and the next year moved to VNIIsintezbelok, where he glued border mockups for scientific technical journals and control over their recruitment and layout in printing houses . For three years he worked in the production and publishing department of TsNIIneftekhim. [one]
In 1969, K. M. Sukhorukov entered the Moscow Polygraphic Institute at the full-time department of book science of the publishing department. For excellent study throughout all 4 years he was awarded the Fedorov scholarship. KM Sukhorukov defended his diploma under the guidance of a professor , doctor of historical sciences A. A. Govorov.
Since the fall of 1973, KM Sukhorukov worked for 14 years at ONTI Design Institute No. 2, the head institute of the Gosstroy of the USSR , acting as a technical and literary editor, proofreader and translator , reviewer and journalist , preparing various informational publications. With these publications, he earned the VDNKh medal following the results of a scientific and technical competition for information services of the USSR. [one]
During these years, K. M. Sukhorukov actively worked as a freelance translator at VINITI and the Institute of Patent Studies, translating various information materials from English and Swedish , in particular, on printing issues.
In 1984, K. M. Sukhorukov successfully defended his thesis [2] for the degree of candidate of historical sciences .
In 1986, K. M. Sukhorukov was invited to the All-Union Book Chamber , which, in connection with the reorganization, needed new people with fresh ideas and views on improving the state bibliography and book business as a whole. For several years, at the turn of the 1980-1990s, K. M. Sukhorukov taught a number of disciplines at the Moscow Polygraphic Institute .
Since 2004, he assumed the post of chief editor of the journal "Bibliography" . With the advent of KM Sukhorukov, the scientific authority of this publication has grown: in 2007, the journal was included in the list of scientific journals of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia , recommended for the publication of papers by applicants for advanced degrees.
KM Sukhorukov is the Secretary of the Association of Book Chambers of the CIS, takes part in the activities of IFLA , ALA , RBA . [one]
