Daudgyt д dzuar or Dziri dzuar ( Ossetia . Daudıty dzuar, Dziriy dzuar ) - in Ossetian mythology, the deity of fertility and harvest. The deity is named for the mountain Jiri .
Mythology
Daudzhyty Dzuar was popular among residents of the villages of Kurtatinsky gorge . There was a festival dedicated to the deity Daujity Dzuaru. This holiday was celebrated at the beginning of haymaking near the sanctuary of Daucıty Dzuara, which was located on the top of the mountain Jiri. Before the beginning of the feast, the priests of the sanctuary uttered corresponding prayers to the deity. Each family sacrificed a lamb. Common feasts were arranged at the sanctuary of Daujity Dzuar. Celebrations in honor of Daudzhyty dzuara ended with dancing and horse racing.
