Group History

The group was created in Cherepovets by guitarist Vyacheslav Kobrin in 1979 under the name "Disco-September", which emphasized its stylistic direction. The group also included Oleg Hakman (bass), Alexander Pugachev (keyboards, vocals) and Evgeny Belozerov (drums). In this composition, the group rehearsed on the basis of the city House of Culture and played dancing there. At the heart of many songs of his own repertoire were lyrics by Alexander Bashlachev .

In early 1981, the group recorded the disco-robot magneto- album and received an offer to transfer to the category of professional groups by concluding an agreement with the Ulyanovsk Philharmonic. However, a professional career lasts less than six months, after which the musicians return to Cherepovets and record a new magnetic album, “We need the wind” - already under the new name “Rock-September”. The group periodically takes part in amateur song contests.

In the fall of 1982, the group took part in the All-Union contest "Golden tuning fork" in Moscow. There is a meeting with Yuri Shevchuk and an agreement is concluded on joint work. Shevchuk, along with keyboard player Vladimir Sigachev, come for several months to Cherepovets, where the album “ Compromise ” is recorded together. A little later, “Rock-September” records the album “Doctor Rock and Roll”.

In 1984, the group immediately fell into the category of unreliable groups, which deprives it of the opportunity to perform not only professionally, but also independently. Due to the impossibility of work, the first line-up breaks up, and the leader of the group Kobrin moves to Estonia , where he continues to play as part of local groups ( Magnetic Band , Kobrin blues band, Ultima Thule ).

Until 1987, bass player Oleg Hackman, with the help of studio musicians (Vladimir Feklin, Vladimir Mikhailov, Oleg Morev), recorded several Rock-September albums, which did not attract much attention. He is reviving the team in a new composition. In addition to Hackman and Belozerov himself, the updated group included Vladislav Mamchenko (guitar) and Vyacheslav Kurbatov (keyboards). In this composition, the team performed at several festivals, the most notable of which was “Rock + World” in Yaroslavl in 1987 . Perestroika allowed the group to regain the status of a professional - in the fall of 1988, it became the collective of the Vologda Philharmonic. In December 1988, the only minion of the group came out at Melody.

At the turn of the 1980s and 1990s , Rock-September performs at several festivals, after which the group finally disintegrates, and its members continue to work in other musical projects. According to Oleg Hackman, the band ended in 1991.

On April 23, 2016, at the 59th year of his life, Vyacheslav Kobrin died in Costa Rica [1] .
