Gauripur ( Beng. গৌরীপুর , English Gauripur ) is a sub-district in the north of Bangladesh within the Maimansingh district. It was founded in 1981 . The administrative center is the city of Gauripur . The area of the subdistrict is 374.07 km². According to the 1991 census, the population of the subdistrict was 247,945. The population density was 905 people. on 1 km². The literacy rate of the population was 24.40%. Religious composition: Muslims - 95.02%, Hindus - 4.68%, Christians - 0.03%, others - 0.25%.
