Okotepec ( Spanish: Ocotepec ) is a municipality in Mexico , Chiapas , with an administrative center in the city of the same name . The population according to the 2010 census was 11,878 people.

Content
General information
The name Ocotepec from the Nahuatl language can be translated as a pine mountain .
The area of the municipality is 59.6 km², which is 0.1% of the state. It borders with other municipalities of Chiapas : in the north with Francisco Leon and Chapultenango , in the east with Tapalapa , in the south with Coapilla and Kopaynaloy , and in the west with Tekpatan . [3]

The municipality was formed in 1915 [4] , it consists of 38 settlements, the largest of which are:

The working population is employed by sectors of the economy in the following proportions: agriculture and livestock - 81.9%, manufacturing and manufacturing - 6.1%, services and tourism - 10.9% [4] .
