Ivan Vladimirovich Lazarev (born November 4, 1983 , Kandalaksha , Murmansk region ) is a Russian luger , acting in the naturban discipline, a multiple world and European champion. Honored Master of Sports (2006) [1] .

Biography
Since childhood, engaged in skiing races . According to him, for the first time he saw a luge in training on the Cross Mountain on January 12, 1992. Coach Andrei Ivanovich Knir noticed Ivan’s interest and invited an eight-year-old boy to his section. [2]
In the same 1992, two months after the start of training, Lazarev took part in children's city competitions and entered the second ten. According to the athlete, such a quick inclusion in the competitive process helped him make a choice in favor of the naturbana. However, over the next year and a half, Ivan was simultaneously engaged in both skiing and luge sports. [2]
The first significant success in the competition itself lug considers the third place in the “single” in the championship of the national federation Naturbana in 1996 . In the same year, Ivan began training in the "two" in a team with Pavel Porshnev . And in 1998, a year and a half after the start of training, this crew won the Russian Cup. [2]
In 1998, Ivan Lazarev was included in the Russian junior team, and since 2000 he has been in the main team of the country [1] .
In recognition of the athlete, he and his partner received proposals to move to another competitive discipline - Kunstbahn , which is included in the program of the Winter Olympic Games . But the luge remained faithful to his coach. [2]
In 2006 he graduated from the Faculty of Physical Education of the Murmansk State Pedagogical Institute , in 2010 he received a second higher education in Murmansk State Technical University [1] .
Ivan Lazarev and his teammate Pavel Porshnev have been serving in the military since 2006 and are in support of the 77th Northern Fleet Sports Club [3] .
He is fond of snowboarding and alpine skiing [2] [4] .
