History

Establishment of the People’s Republican Party (CHP)

Initially, the formation was called the Peasant Christian Democratic Party of Moldova (KHPPM). At the founding conference, the Program and the Charter were approved, Vladimir Reus was elected to the position of the chairman of the formation, a Steering Board, the Executive Committee and the Audit Commission were created.

The CDCM has set itself a fundamental goal to help solve economic problems and propose “new strategies in political activities”. The party took part in the early parliamentary elections, which took place in 2001, but could not overcome the established 6 percent electoral threshold.

On June 26, 2004, convened the 5th KCDM National Conference. Its delegates appointed Nicolae Andronik as chairman of the formation and elected the composition of the KCDMB Governing Council. During the conference, a resolution was approved in which delegates condemned the attitude of the central authorities to the media.

On May 28, 2005, the VI Conference was held, during which it was decided to rename the formation to the People’s Republican Party (CHP). Also, its members approved the new version of the Charter and Program of the Independent Labor Party and approved the party’s tactics for the next four years as an opposition political party.

IV Congress of the APP on April 13, 2014

The main tasks of the congress were to elect new governing bodies and approve changes to the Charter and the Party Program. 248 delegates of the congress elected businessman Renato Usatii to the position of party chairman. In addition, the formation was renamed “Our Party”, the symbol and color of the party underwent changes. According to Renato Usatii, the formation will not promote the accession of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union or the Customs Union, since it must independently choose its future.

In accordance with the norms of the Charter, “Our Party” positions itself on the center-left segment of the political field, it intends to achieve the revival of the Moldovan industry, lower energy prices, attract investments in the national economy.

Repeated 4th Congress of the Independent Labor Party on February 8, 2015

The congress was convened in connection with the refusal of the Ministry of Justice to register the changes approved during the congress held on April 13, 2014. Justifying the denial of registration, the Ministry of Justice referred to the fact that the political formation did not hold the congress in the timeframe provided by its own charter. As a result, during the congress, which was held on February 8, 2015, the delegates re-elected Renato Usaty as chairman of the formation, approved changes to the Charter and the Party program, renamed the formation to “Our Party”.

In August 2014, Renato Usatii created a new party, “ParUS”, but the Ministry of Justice refused to register it. In the parliamentary elections, organized on November 30, 2014, Usatiy headed the list of the Rodina Party, however, the CEC decree and the court instances three days before the election date, this formation was removed from participation in the election campaign.

Renato Usatii is elected mayor of mun. Balti

After the re-congress in February 2015, Our Party began to prepare to participate in the general local elections scheduled for June 2015. On May 14, 2015, the leader of the formation, Renato Usatyi, was registered as a candidate for the post of mayor mun. Balti. As a result of the elections, organized on June 14, 2015, he gained 72.46% of valid votes and was elected to the post of mayor.

Protests against the authorities

On September 24, 2015, against the background of protests organized by representatives of the Civil Platform “Dignity and Truth” against the “theft of a billion”, as well as the socio-economic and political situation in the country, another camp of protesters led by political leaders Igor Dodon and Renato Usatii were defeated the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova tent city, which was called the "Town of Victory".
