Biography
Born October 7, 1955 in Italian Verona .
He was ordained priest on May 29, 1982 . Since 1985, he worked as secretary of Cardinal Achille Silvestrini , who was then head of the Congregation for the Oriental Churches .
On December 7, 2001, he was elevated to the title of titular bishop Ravello and appointed the Apostolic Nuncio in Armenia and Georgia , and on December 13 the Apostolic Nuncio in Azerbaijan . Episcopal ordination took place on January 6, 2002 at St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican . The chief conservator was Pope John Paul II .
On July 15, 2011 he replaced Martin Vidovich as a nuncio in Belarus .
November 13, 2015 appointed apostolic nuncio in Ukraine .
