The flag of the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais is a rectangular white cloth, in the center of which is a red equilateral triangle , on the sides of which the phrase "Libertas quæ sera tamen" is written.

History
The flag of the state of Minas Gerais was at one time a project of the national flag of fighters for the independence of Brazil and has been known since the 18th century [1] . He officially received the status of the flag of Minas Gerais on January 8, 1963 .
Symbols
The Latin phrase depicted on the flag, “Libertas quæ sera tamen” ( port. Liberdade ainda que tardia ), in translation means: “Freedom, even if not immediately”.
The triangle symbolizes the Holy Trinity , as well as the three ideals of the French Revolution : Freedom, equality, fraternity .
The white color of the flag represents the desire to form a new peaceful nation, red symbolizes the flame of freedom.
